Star is out of business and parts are hard to come by. CZ75 is very good gun for the price.

I have 9mm, 40S&W,& 45ACP versions of the Star Firestar. Love all of them and have had no problems with any of them. They are all steel (not lite) and been very durable for me. I don't shoot thousands of rounds, but they serve my purposes well. I have no first hand knowledge of the CZ75 other than they don't fit a small handed person.

Both are well made guns, but I would think they are suited for different purposes. The Firestar is compact and suited for concealed carry. It is all steel. Mag capacity is limited. It is single action, with the safety lever on both sides.

The CZ 75 is a full sized gun designed with a 15rd magazine. It is all steel. It is double action. The safety is set up for a right handed shooter, although the CZ85 has controls on both sides. The gun would be great for shooting often, but more difficult to conceal.

Without knowing what you intend to do with one of these if you bought it, it is difficult to answer your question with any degree of accuracy. Both are good choices, but not neccessarily interchangeable in purpose. It is true that Star is out of business and that CZ is very much alive. For some, that would be the deciding factor.
