Moly coated bullets
What are the pro's and con's of shooting moly? Is there an accuracy advantage? I personally shoot .223 rem using 69gr sierras and 80gr sierras, in .308 win I use 168gr sierras. Just wanted to know if switching to moly is worth it. Thanks guys! Rayzor25

I can't speak for all rifles, but I have an old sporterized Springfield 03A3 with an original 2 groove barrel (30-06 cal.). For 40 years I couldn't get good accuracy out of it. I tried all factory ammo as well as endless handloads. I even used benchrest dies when handloading. But then I tried some of the new Winchester Supreme moly coated ammo--bought it as WalMart. For the first time, the rifle will hold 1" five-shot groups at 100 yards.
I would say if your rifles are shooting well with what you're using, don't change. But if you're unsatisfied with accuracy, give the moly coated ammo a try.
My humble opinion,

BASICLY MOLY MAY OR MAY NOT MAKE A RIFLE SHOOT BETTER, THE MAIN ADVANTAGE IS IT WILL SHOOT ACCURATELY FOR MORE ROUNDS (LESS FOULING) BEFORE CLEANING IS NESSESARY. 0
