browning buckmark vs. ruger custom
I currently own a ruger 10/22 w/a fajen stock and a butler creek ss fluted .920 barrel. It shoots .650 inch groups at 50 yards modestly.I'm thinking of buying a buckmark rifle, can anyone give me any info on the expected performance & operation of this rifle? all replies are well appreciated

I have a couple of custom 10/22's and wanted to try something different. I bought the Browning Buckmark rifle through a trade deal. I chose the bull barrel flat top. I had a red dot lying around so I tried it out at 50yds. The accuracy was good so I put a scope on it, and of course, it got better. The gun is very accurate, easy to point, and different. The only thing that I have not totally got used to is the extra little felt recoil when the last round is fired and the slide locks open. I recently had to get a Browning buckmark pistol so that I could take advantage of using the same mags. The take down requires removing two allen wrench screws from the top of the slide, then removing the innards. Browning does not recommend taking off the grips, but I'm sure I will do it soon.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to match the .650 inch groups you got with your custom 10/22. It seems that you are no stranger in regards to knowing that custom 10/22's can get costly. For about the same cost of customizing a 10/22, you can get the Buckmark. Average price is about $450. I don't think that there are many add ons for the the Buckmark vs the 10/22; something to think about.
