.22 cal pistol/carbine
I've been reading about the Ruger Mark ii, S&W 41, Browning Buckmark, etc. I'd like a tackdriving .22 pistol and rifle but because my funds are extremely limited I was wondering if it's possible to have both in one weapon. I've seen rare Luger P11 carbine attachments here at GB before, but does anyone know if there's a 22. pistol out there that will quickly convert to a rifle in the field?
Thanks,
Fitz

I've seen some conversions for pistol to carbine for the Glocks(don't remember who makes it) and 1911 style pistol's (by Mech-Tech) but nothing in .22 calibur ... part of the problem with those conversions is that besides adding a stock, you must have at least a 16" barrel; the Ruger MkII wouldn't lend itself easily to that type of conversion and I'm not sure about the S&W 41 or Browning Buckmark, but I don't think they would either ... the only one I can think of off had that might is the Colt Cadet, its been out of production for a few years, and although there were 4" & 6" (easliy changed) barrels I'm sure there is no conversion of that type for it ... the Walther P22 could be a candidate also ... sorry, rambling thoughts ...

The only sensible canidate for you is a T/C contender It is a single shot but you can have a 10" pistol or by changing barrels and stocks, a carbine. Remember the minimum carbine barrel length is 16". 0 -
try berreta's web sight or try emailing them. i am almost positive they make a new composite/polymer .22 rimfire semiauto that can accept a longer barrel and shoulder stock that converts it into a carbine. i saw a write up or add for it in g&a or shooting times, or one of those mags. wish i could remember, but my brain is frozen.

I would think that by the time you found a single weapon as you described, you would probably pay as much as buying a good used Ruger MkII and 10/22. Good luck. 0
