Anyone know much about the 450 marlin caliber
looking at getting a new barrel. so i can shoot a couple of different calibers with the same gun. And maybe in a few years try elk hunting. but right now might use it on a deer but doubtful. since the current barrel is a 25-06

i believe the 450 Marlin is a "belted" 45-70. Have not had any first hand experience but I have shot some heavy 45-70 loads.

If you are a hand loader, forget the 450 Marlin and stay with the .45-70. A hand loaded .45-70 will do anything the 450 will do. 0 -
well not a handloader yet may be soon, then i will have a whole bunch of stupid little questions on that 0
