rem 870 ?
i have a mag ext not sure if thats proper name its 8 1\4 in long and when i put it on i noticed that there are two dents in the end that will not allow anymore shells to go through what do i do also the cap at the end is notched to allow it to go through is there something missing or do i file the dents down to allow it to go through also how many shells is this supposed to hold when done thks

It sounds if your Mag extension may be made for Mossberg or Winchester,Im not sure but I think they give you three extra rounds,I dont know for sure because all of my Defense shotguns have full barrel length mag tubes.Hope this helps.

sorry i should have given more info the two dents are in the shotguns normal tube not on the ext just below the threads so even if the ext is on it will not allow any more than normal 0 -
You might try swaging out the dents. They are there to prevent use of mag extensions (or so I've read previously). 0 -
In order for you to utilize the mag extension you must remove the dimple in the original mag tube. I just drill it out with the appropriate size bit. An 8 1/4" extension will increase the mag's capacity by three 2 3/4" shells or two 3" shells.
