Savage 16 Bolt Action rifle question

I have a Savage model 16 in stainless, caliber 308 and it has the internal box magazine. There is no hinged floorplate. Rounds must be cycled thru the action to remove them from the rifle. Is there a way to make a hinged floor plate like the Remington BDL, or maybe even make a detachable mag work in this rifle?

  Since Savage makes a short action clip model, you can swap parts around to get a clip set-up. It would probably be easier to replace the stock with a clip model stock than to try to fit yours.
