Sig p226 p229 difference? last sig q I promise!

    Barrel length and magazine capacity are really the main ones. The P226 has a maximum of 15 and the P229 goes to 13 in 9mm. For concealed carry, you'd probably want the P229. I love the P226.

    In the .40 and .357 caliber the only difference is size. Magazine capacity is 12 rounds in either gun. I like the 229, but if you have really big hands, the grip may be a little short.

    All the replies you've gotten hit the nail on the head. I own both. 226 in 9mm & 229 in .40. I prefer the 229. It has a better balance I find. You'd probably have to special order a 229 in 9mm. At least, I've never seen one in these parts.
