Don't waste your money, get a real gun, get a Jennings.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Please don't take that remark seriously, I was just kidding, jennings are junk... I just saw an oppurtunity to throw in a funny...LOL

Sounds like a possible custom job to me. Is it a double action or single action. Do you see any other markings on it possibly the maker of the frame it was produced on.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Never heard of it before, but the name brings up the image of a top-break revolver, possibly nickle plated.

    Is it?

Nothing in my database even comes close..! How about a discription on this gun...? maybe if I knew what I was looking for other than 'SHATTERER' I might find something....I await your pleasure....

We think it might be a French Military revolver. It's in good solid condition, and a.44 Special fits it.

A Photo would settle the issue...Sitting here looking at a French Revolver Model 1873...This Old Turkey was a common souvenir among U.S. Troops returning from both WW1 and WW2. This Old Revolver was modified from 11mm.to use the 8mm Cartridge..The Model 1873, as originally issued,is 11mm., and was designed for a Low Pressure Black-Powder Cartridge which was made in France only.If You have one, My recommendation is NOT to Shoot it! Best......

Sounds like a larger cal., suicide special, solid frame revolver from Hopkins & Allen or the like in New England 1880s.

I have one of the French Model 1873 army revolvers in the original 11.25MM caliber, which I picked up in S.E.Asia. A VC tried to shoot me with it,but the 90 year old ammo wouldn't fire,my M14 did. Anyway, mine has proof marks all over it plus the name of the arsenal in which it was made. But there is no name on it that is even close to "Shatterer". Of intrest is the fact that they are called 11MM but the bore diameter is really .451.

Yeah, v35.....that's what I was referring to by "break top & nickle plated".

    Sounds like a large "suicide special".....Hopkins & Allen or Merwin & Hubert...or Norwich Arms....one of those .

The name is kind of a giveaway.

It's not an american suiside special. It has a swing out cylender and it is a .44 Cal. Like one post said a photo might be the only way to figure it out. But when you see it you will probably all say "I've seen one of thoes in a book"

Yankee Clipper- How about starting off with a good description instead of letting us go off in every direction.
