GHD, I show $750 for the red label,$225 -$275 for the 77/22 (+/- $100-$150 for scope, if a vari x II), and the 10/22M, I would maybe go $200-$225, (I may be off on that one, no reliable info, and guessing). Hope I could help, hold out for good money if he is a friend.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

Man, sad sad, that stuff makes me depressed. My best wishes and prayers for your friend.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

ghd, you know enough about guns to accurately describe them. Take some photos, list the guns on Gunbroker's auction, and let market forces do the rest. It's the easiest way to get a fair price.

GHD, you and I are in the same neck of the woods, and I think that the Red Label is worth $800-$900, judging from what I've seen them go for around here (assuming excellent condition). The others I'll leave up to other posters.

I wasn't going to put my two cents in, but next to Elcee's the Red Labels are my favorite scatterguns.

This from observations here in the northeast... The older 20ga. Red Labels (all blue) will have generally nicer wood and checkering than their more modern bretheren. No matter what the book says, and no matter that they don't have interchangeable chokes, these guns bring a premium if in 90%+ condition. Stainless guns will bring somewhat less, but they're still very popular.

Your friend's Red Label... I'd like to see a picture, but I think the prices given are fair. Just remember that there's always a range for any item. The same gun will go for $800.00 one place and $1,200.00 a hundred miles away.

If you sell to a dealer he has to resell at a profit. If you sell outrite, then everything depends on how motivated the buyer happens to be.

    Best of luck!

nord, It is one of the older ones all blue and I would say 99% with box and papers! I have a darn digital camera but have to get the wife to download on her computer then copy to disc and load on this one! Hopefully I'll get some pictures by this weekend. Thanks, GHD
