Why is it?
I took a new 22 out yesterday and lined up a new scope.I have tons of 22 ammo but I grabbed some Rem thunder bolt ammo.It all shot well but one shell would crack very loud and sharp and the next one would just barely bang.It shot a complete hole in the target without a single flyer. Why is it ammo makers dont have better specs for makeing rimfire ammo?

Thunderbolt is cheapie ammo. Works well enough for the range. Good 22 ammo is about 50-100% more cost wise. One that shines is CCI Mini-Mag. I think if you find one ammo brand that really works for you and most of your guns, go and buy a case--I've seem it advertised in 5,000 round packages.
