What's the difference?
I got asked this question a little while ago, and I couldn't answer. I should have been able to, but I don't deal with " little ammo " very much. Here you go...It might be a stupid question, but....
" What is the difference between .38 and .380 ammo? "
I *THINK* the difference would be that one is shaped to function in semi-automatics, while the other is revolver-only. But I don't
*KNOW*. You guys have to set me straight!

What's the difference - if any - between chamfering and recessing the charge holes in a revolver's cylinder?
Adavantages or disadvantages?
Thanks all for your replies, and Happy New Year!
Edit: Outstanding pictures iceracer! Thanks.0 -
One is for a .38 caliber revolver one is for a .380acp semi-auto.

The .38 has a wide range of bullet weights and individual names most common is .38special the .380acp doesnt have anywhere near the versatility or bullet weights..38 could be 20 different things while there is only one .380acp.The .38 is more powerful in a longer barrel but from a snub nose .380acp is a better performer under norml pressures.+p changes that.

To through a wrench in the works, there have also been semi-autos that were chambered in .38spl and revolvers chambered for .380acp as well. However, those are the exception, not the rule. 0
