maybe a little high, but it is hard to say without more info. by the way, what did you decide on the 375H&H?

That's about right. One problem is the Redfield scope though. They just came back into business and would be leary of them remaining in business and they always thought their scope were platnum plated. See what the person would want without the scope. That rifle should retail about $550 or so w/o scope. You could buy a used Leupold Vari XII for $150 or so and have a scope that comes with a lifetime warranty.

about the barrel, I am going to follow your advice and fire it once or twice, but I am still set on getting it re-barreled. As a matter of fact a friend of mine is a machinist and he will take the barrel off at no charge therefore if I just send in the receiver maybe the overall cost of just removing the barrel can be duducted by the g-smith who will rebarrel if for me. 0 -
Aglore, Rem does not make this rifle anymore, so I think along your lines and even if I do buy this set up I can sell the scope and still end up with a fairly priced rifle...and from what I have heard...a rem shoots okay! I'll just have to find some extra detachable mags for this rifle... 0
