12 gauge semi-auto shotgun
I have an old semi-auto shotgun I got from an old friend years ago and I do not know what it is. It looks like a Browning, 6-7 shot magizine, beautiful wood stock, matching wood inserts on both sides of the bolt chamber, nickel trigger guard, ribed barrel, original leather strap, fires 2 5/8 shells and has "Made in Czechoslovakia" on the left side of the barrel. On the bottom of the bolt chamber there's a small circle with a "C" in side and a small "z" inside the C. My friend told me he got it from a retired Naval Captain who bought it in Europe in the late 50' and brought it back when he retired. The gun has had less than a box of shells fired through it and is in excellent shape. It also has a number on the bottom above the circle "25221". The barrel is 23 3/4" long. Can anyone help me on this one? Still looking for ID and value. Thanks in advance. Karl

Your shotgun was made by Ceska Zbrojovka. Most of us just say "CZ" because we can't pronounce Ceska Zbrojovka.
I'm not aware that the US importers ever brought in their semi-auto shotguns, so yours may well be the only one in the country. Rarity, however, does not necessarily translate into high value; it just means that the only way to determine the value is to post it for sale.
There are few CZ collectors in this country, and CZ's tend to be bought to be used. Since replacement parts for your shotgun would be impossible to obtain, that may limit its value to shooters.

Cannot post a picture at this time. Can sent one via the mail if you like. I will most likely post a photo if I decide to sell it. Thanks 0
