Hy-Score Scope, Made in Germany

I got an old rifle from an estate which was topped with a HY-SCORE SPORTSER 4-10 scope. It says "Made in Germany" on the scope. Does anyone know the origin or value of these scopes?

  There was a Hy Score company in Brooklyn, NY in the late '40s and early '50s that manufactured spring powered air guns.
  I believe near the end they imported some shooting items and maybe
  .22rf ammo.

  Yes, the scope says HY-SCORE ARMS CORP, New York, NY. But it also says Made n Germany. Just wondered if anyone knew who made the scope for them.

  Starting in 1962, Hy-Score started importing scopes from Japan, so yours predates that. I can find no information on who manufactured for Hy-Score which sold scopes from 1957-1980. The Varipower no. 855 4-10x which is likely your Sportster, my reference does not list a Sportster, was made 1957-1958 and walue is $50-100 depending upon condition, where $100=NIB.
