J Stevens model 235 dbl brl w/exposed hammers
My dad just bought this from a friend for $75.00 It was sitting in his basement for awhile and has minor rust on all the exposed metal surfaces. It measures 29 3/4 " from end of barrells to breech. I ran a couple of patched through and fired some light trap loads. Shoots great. Action is very tight. My question is rather simple....is this worth anything or should I go ahead and clean it up and reblue it? I looked in the latest edition of Gun Trader Guide and can't find the model listed anywhere, either under Steven or Savage. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The Model 235, Outside Hammers, Checkered Stock and Steel Barrels...Very Desirable for Cowboy Action Shooters...Keep it original
just clean with 600 fine steel wool and maybe a tad of Brownells Instant Gun Brown to keep a nice Patina on it...And for heavens sake...Don't cut the barrels...!As a good shooter its worth $250.00 and Maybe more to someone looking for a hammer gun....Best...

captkirk....Thank you very much....I'm sure my dad will be pleased. I'll get some 600 steel wool tomorrow and see how it turns out.
