looking to find out more about this rifle. i would like to restore it to working order. it needs a magizine and some internal parts. it would be a wall hanger, but i would like to shoot it every so often. i could get only one hit in my GB searches. the gun retains about 98% of its bluing, except were the slide meets the barrel and on the slide piston??? itself. the wood is in decent shape, as well as the bore and rifling. i know that even when restored it will not be worth much, but it will be my project/hobby gun. anybody got one???

MrMike - Some of the internal parts will interchange with the 1914, of which I have one in parts status. Define / explain / describe or name the parts and I'll see if I can help out. As far as magazine goes, there are some aftermarket ones out there, though not real common. Original are nearly impossible to find and Ive seen them go for up to $40. Try finding aftermarket if you just want a shooter. I will keep my eyes out for one also. FYI - If you can find parts for 1903, they are closer to the 1909 than the 1914. Only difference is oct bbl on th 1903

MrMike - Mail went to my home, I am at work. You can forward it to me here at mike.walker@sanmina.com if you'd like. I saw a 1903 left side reciever with some internal parts for sale on another gun sight (AA).
Have looked at all my knormal sources and have not seen any mags yet.

Mike. The 1909 savage is nothing more than an ecomomy 1903 savage pump. The internal parts are the same the only differance was a straight stock and a 20inch round barrel instead of a 24 inch octagon barrel. I have parts for this gun, email me at crmcafee@attbi.com Roger.
