Thanks Rugster - But I thought it was worth more than that - I'll check the Gunbroker Auction listings as you recommended

I thought preban AKs were worth between $800 and $1000.

Thanks for the above info - I couldn't find any AK47 similiar to mine on Gunbroker but I checked the other auctions just now and the couple I found were a heck of a lot more than $350.
I think I might list it next week on Gunbroker with a minimum price of $600 and a Buy it Now price of $700.I'll take some photos tomorrow to include in the listing. Do you think this price will be ok?
    Thanks again,
    John

A true preban before 1989 (I think) are in the range of 700-750. I've seen some that are not preban, however people call them preban. I think their may have been more changes later in the law.

You'll commonly see these anywhere from $650 to as much as $1000+. Not having the box affects the price to many. Given that you do not have the box, I'd say your's is most likely in the $730-875 range. A lot of it has to do with where you are at in the country. If it is as nice of a condition as you say, it should bring decent money. The bayonet, sling, cleaning kit, oil bottle, and cleaning rod will help in the overall package price. In the time period these were coming in to the country, they could have come with anywhere from one to three 30rd mags. It varied given the importer and the distributor. Sometimes the extra mags were removed and sold seperately. It's hard to believe that it has been 13 1/2 years since these were imported. I remeber selling them new in the box for the mid-$300's. Oh how times change. In less than a week, back in March of 1989, they went from selling at $365 to over $1000.

The Norinco AK came with canvas sling, 3-30 round magazines, Bayonet, oiler, tool kit, gas port scraper and a manual in a form fitting, polystyrene foam lined cardboard box.

I found that I do have the bayonet, three 30round Mags, sling, oiler, cleaning rod and instruction manual but none of the other items you mentioned. In fact the sling and oiler are still in the sealed plastic bag they came in. I don't remember the box looking the way you described it but it was a long time ago that I bought the gun - back in the 80's - so it might just be my failing memory!!
    Thanks for the info.
