Handloads for .270 Winchester
I am looking for some handload data for my .270. I am intereseted in any info on the 130 Gr. Swift Scirocco. My gun will group under an inch with Nosler 130gr. Ballistic Tips, but my Swift handloads are not as accurate. I am using 60 grains of H4831, Rem. Brass, and match primers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have not used the Swift bullets in my .270. But I do use the
Nosler Partition with 59.0 gn. H4831. I would suggest back off
on the powder to about 57 and start there with your bullets.
Also, have you trimmmed the cases?

Thanks, for the reply bama55, yes I have trimmed the cases, turned the outside necks also, and are using Forster bench rest dies, on a single stage press. Along your thoughts, I am planning on trying different grains of H4831 and possibly a different powder. I have some H4350 and Imr4350. I realize that the bullet you want to use is sometimes not the most accurate one in you rifle, I feel the Swift bullet is the most ideal bullet out there for whitetail, and I am going to keep trying to get it to group under an inch. 0 -
I've been shooting 56.0 of 4350 over the Sierra 130 BTSP for about 20 years on everything from coyotes to elk, and it's been a great performer.
