I would say over-all quality advanatage Taurus.I know a guy who bought a Llama Mini-Max 2 as his first gun and it was a pretty good shooter. It was quite tempermental about what it would feed.It never malfunctioned on me anytime I shot it with FMJ but it did a fair bit with JHP.As best as I can remember the only kind it would feed right were Ranger's.It would feed any kind of FMJ though and you could use Cor-Bon Power Ball for defense.Im not sure if its offered in .45acp but you could look into Federal Expanding FMJ for defense as well.Accuracy was descent but its not for target shooting anyway the up close and personal accuracy was sufficient. For the money its a pretty good carry piece and the feeding problem with JHP could be remedied with some throating work.Llama is not that great but its not that bad either.

had one this past spring , shot hardball ok and to point of aim but would not feed HP,, also trigger pull was to say the least very bad ,, and another thing I don't think a lot of the 1911 parts work on the llama

I bought a Llama a few years ago on sale. Before shooting it,I took it to the work bench and stoned and polished the slide and frame rails and polished the feed ramp.It was a great gun and I never had any problems with it.I see many negative post about Llamas so maybe mine was the exception.

    buddyb,
Your pistol was the "exception" but you did the work prior...In my experience the Llama ranks right up there with the Jennings. POS. This is my personal experience. Williams "a pretty good carry piece"?

Absolutely not! THE METALLURGY IS POOR AT BEST. FIRE ONE! 101

I have and it wasnt that bad.I gave a good detailed review of my experience with these guns even the negative which out weighed the positive. The Llama as I said is not that great but that bad either. It is a world away from Jennings and Lorcin the Llama will feed nd fire when you want it to and didnt blow up on me.It is actually a quite heavy little all steel gun.For a budget gun he could do a hell of alot worse. Not a total P.O.S but not a Taurus or Ruger either.Just a descent cheap gun.

I have the LLAMA in the small frame 1911A1 style, in .380, right from the box I have never had any problems with it, small, light, and easy to carry. Over all a good pistol.
