338-06
What if any, is the difference between the 338-06 and the 338-06 A Square used by Weatherby?

Can anyone share a couple of pet loads for a 338-06.
I am looking for a load for a 210 gr. Nosler Partition in particular.

Same creature. A-Square commercialized the 338-06 so they called it the 338-06 A-Square. Omly commercial ammo available for it. Good cartridge though. 210 grain Nosler Partition is an exceptional bullet for this cartridge.

The 338.06 is my favorit rifle. I have built 5 or six of them and each time someone liked it better than I did and bought it from me. For big gane like elk and moose , ect the 210 gr Nosler Partition can't be beat. I mostly hunt white tail deer with my new 338.06 and I have toned it down a bit with Noslers 180gr balistic tips. I have also used the Barnes 185gr X bullet. Barnes makes 338 bullets all the way down to 165gr. But be warned. Be prepared to relay clean your rifle if you use the Barnes X bullets in your rifle. They leave a lot of copper resdue in the barrel. I have some of there molly coated bullets loaded up and I am going to try them out.
Since Weatherby is the only commercial manufactuar of 338.06 bullets you may want to get into reloading them and you can relay pull top preformance out of this round with a little experminting.0
