Mauser Safety
Will I be able to replace a mauser safety myself? I want to change to a side swing for scope clearance. Brownells shows low safeties like the timney and also kits. Are they the same thing? What parts are needed?

There is a big diff between a side-swing (mod 70 win) and the scope type safeties by timney and others. The real mod 70 type safeties require a milling machine among other things. I have installed lots of the timney-buehler type safeties and have had mostly good results. I've botched a couple of cocking pieces in the past, too. Careful use of a dremel tool will do fine. Just remember, you're working on the SAFETY so make sure it works right.

I went with a Parker-Hale Bolt and adjustable trigger so I didn't use this set-up ... it may need a little more fitting but complete instructions are included.
