Colt Commander info
Need pricing info on a Colt Commander.
I found one in a gunshop with a price of $585 NIB. This is not a pre owned gun or used gun. It's a bought from distributor for sale at retail gun. Is this a really good deal or have all the other Commanders I've looked at been too high on price? Every used commander I have seen has been at $600 or more, and even more for the light weight or Series 70 model. I have seen the 1991 commander in matte finish sell for around $500, and the MK IV for a little more.
The one I found is a polished blue commander with fine checkered walnut grips with diamonds on them. It has the Series 80 rollmark on it. I don't think it is the enhanced model. The only thing I see that I don't like on the gun is the plastic trigger and main spring housing.
This is the same gun shop that I got a SxS shot gun with with walnut stocks at a birch stock price.

Hard to tell exactly which one you're looking at without the factory order no., but from your description I think it's supposed to retail for $699. 0 -
I'm not sure about the price, but you could always replace the plastic parts if everything else seems to work for you. I personally don't think the price is out of line.

good buy, go for it, the plastic trigger & main spring housing are standard now. 0 -
I got the gun via a trade deal. Take a look, and it does have a steel trigger. The price tag was marked 1991 Commander Matte.
