Browning Challenger
I have seen a Browning Challenger .22LR pistol at the last couple of gun shows I've attended. I was planning on buying a Buck Mark, but this caught my eye as well. Is it a good gun as well? What on average is the going rate for these. Condition was like new if I remember correctly.

What are the differences between the US and Belgium versions of this gun. I've read that even the grips won't interchange. Are they that much different. 0 -
If you're talking the Challenger I, the pistol made in Belgium from 1962-1975, you can't go wrong.
In the mid 70's the dependable little Ruger cost less to produce than the wrap around grips on the Challenger cost to produce, so cheaper Browning pistols were on the horizon.
With a "Belgium" Challenger, you'll have a sweet little 22 that will shoot with the best and the collector value will increase as each year goes by.
I personally like the version made from 1968 to 1975, because the two piece front sight is less likely to catch holster and is just neater looking.
A 98% Challenger I, with 6 3/4" barrel will set you back around $400.
Blue Book says $315, but I'll take all I can find for that.
A 4 1/2" barrel a little less.
If you're talking the Challenger II or III, made in good Ole USA,
I've done a lot of typing for nothing and recommend you go with the Buckmark---5.5" Heavy Barrel Target version with full length rib.
I own 8-10 of each version and love them all.
