Gun lube and Grease?
What is the difference between Gun lube and Gun Grease? Should one or the other be used on certain parts of the gun? Why? Which brands of each are best?

Grease is thick a gooey, and lube is liquidy. Its actually just a slang terminalogy because grease is a lube. But anyway.
There are many different types of lubricants and you really just have to find the right one for your gun. Preferably I like oils over greases, and there are a few types for various purposes. Some are a preservative while others are anti-friction lubricants and some both. Some are penatrants while others are not. And there is a huge selection out there.
Personally I like Breakfree CLP for exterior non-friction bearing surfaces, and MPro-7 Ultralube for internal friction bearing surfaces. But remember that a little goes a long way. I use a rag and dab the end of the surface with the lube then apply it, and for the internal I use a q-tip.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Some type of grease base, needs to be put on your shotgun chokes.A good lubricant should be lightly applied to Pump shot gun Rails. And always keep your firearm protected with oil or silicone.
Best!!

Yea, I too prefer coating my guns with silicon. I've heard of this new stuff called bull frog for external protection but I havn't tried it yet.
I also find it handy to have some lithium greese and some fel-pro anti sieze stuff for special applications.

If I might piggyback on vallopez's question, what would you use on revolver trigger mechanisms to smooth trigger pull? 0 -
Brownells offers some stuff especially made for that specific task, I forgot what its called though.
