class 3 firearms
I would like to sell a class 3 firearm on gunbroker. Can I legally send it to a licensed class 3 dealer upon receipt of a copy of their FFL?

I dont think so, you have to file the transfer papers with NFA Branch and when they approve it then you ship it. 0 -
CALL YOUR LOCAL BATF OFFICE. BE SURE AND BE SAFE.

A good friend of mine in NV just went through this with his class III sale. It went like this:
1. Class III dealer who was to receive item for receipiant (in another state) sent paper work to him for transfer to the DEALER. He filled out paperwork and it was sent in to BATF.
2. After BATF approved the transfer to dealer, my friend was able to ship the item to the dealer in another state, without needing to use a class 3 dealer on his end, and he was then done with his end of the transacton. (Item was on a form 4 at the time)
3. Not that this part matters but, the dealer, after he received item, had the purchaser fill out paperwork for the transfer from the dealer to the receiver, who was the ultimate purchaser. After that form 4 was approved by BATF and was in the dealers possesion, the new owner was able to pick up item from the dealer and go on his merry way.
So the way it went was:
Original owner had to have the approval of BATF even to send his class 3 stuff to a class 3 dealer, if it's on a form 4. If it's on a form 3 (dealer owned stock) it can go directly from dealer to dealer witout paying the $200 transfer tax.
If it's in the same state it is a somewhat simpler.
That's how it was done with my buddy but as duckhunter says "CALL YOUR LOCAL BATF OFFICE." It may be different in your situation.
Hope this helps some.
