does anyone know where i can purchase accesories (rubber grips,m6 tactical illuminator adapter, high cap mags, etc.) for my taurus pt 101? i am having a hard time finding things! thanks in advance!! 0 -
The gun is light weight, easy to conceal and very reliable with most types of ammunion.Taurus is known for their reliable and accurate Handguns, they also offer a lifetime Warranty.Which should ease your mind before you make your purchase. It has a 5 inch barrel, ambidextrous Decocker, and was made between 1992-96.The PT101 has adjustable sights, where the PT 100 does not.The gun should have Brazilian Hardwood grips.Value at 100% condition is $395.00 and at 98% its valued at$330.00.
Best!!

pablo, no more powder thank you. That's a crazy name but so is booger but I digress.
rugster, easy to conceal? Well o.k. it easier than an Ithaca Mag 10.
back to pablo, I found that this gun has an alloy frame that serves as a partial feed ramp which really took a pounding after being slammed by a few thousand rounds, looked awful but DID continue to function, so I guess that was O.K. but I traded before the next few thousand rounds because it didn't look as though it would have made it long term, but who knows for sure. The rear sight was never secured no matter what I did short of loctite. It came loose repeatedly and was a major annoyance. However, when first tightend and all was well, it was a very accurate gun.
I'd give it a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10

I have a PT-100 so I can't comment on the sight problems booger experianced. I have shot about 4500 rounds through this gun with no problems. It is more accurate than the Berretta model 96 I have too. As far as easy to conceal, it has a full size frame and would not normally be considered "easy" to conceal. I would make a good carry gun and Taurus will honor the lifetime warranty for most anything that goes wrong even if you wear out certain parts. rg 0 -
If you will excuse me for saying easy to conceal. But I am 6"5 and weigh around 275 so for me I just let my shirt hang down over the gun and its easy to conceal for me.And no its not from eating doughnuts,HA HA.Height vs weight= ok.
Best!!

Rugster you made me laugh!!!!! Thanks, rg. 0 -
PT 101 is excelent, ditto the .40S&W. I have had two,but wouldn't consider them a concealed carry weapon, but they cover very nicely under a towel in the seat.Never had a misfire. 0 -
Rugster,
Where do you get the prices you quote. They are better than the wholesale prices I have. Maybe there is a Kalifornia markup?
Thanks
John

Avoid this weapon at all costs. I had one, stove piped every third round and I could have thrown it at a target more accurately than it shot. I hope that you will learn from my problems with taurus and avoid the problems I had. I have talked to alot of other people who will tell you the same. My problem was I bought on the reputation of taurus revolvers which are excellant. Their pistols suck though. Do some research and check out some other forums as well and you will hear more negative about taurus pistols. If you want a full sized auto loader save a little more and buy something that will do what it is supposed to do. Get a 1911 or a glock or an HK or SIG ect. Just say no to overpriced junk taurus pistols...
When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....0 -
I have also heard of people having severe problems with Taurus' customer service and their warrany.Like sent the gun came back with the wrong thing replaced sending it back and Taurus taking a extreme amount of time to return weapon.

My buddy had one and it was reliable, but not very accurate. He sent it back to the factory for some work. Same basic problem when it came back so he traded it off....

My buddy bought the same PT-100 I did. His jammed & stove piped on every other round. He sent it to Taurus. They sent it back in 2 weeks & it hasn't jammed since. They said the spring on the ejector arm was defective & that they had a run of bad springs. This may account for the bad rep they got. I have used my PT-100 for bowling pin competitions and many other fun events without any problems. I have many other more expensive guns that don't operate nearly as flawlessly. Its just like buying a car, many people swear by one brand while others swear at it. rg 0
