Glock inchanging .40 and 9mm barrels
I was looking at an auction and it states that the glock 23(.40) can functionally shoot with a 9mm barrel? How true is this? Is there any other Glock caliber combination that can be safely made? Thanks for any sound input.

I dont know for sure but you have to take into account a couple things.1 you cant use the same mags...2 you would have to change the re-coil spring and naturally change to a 9mm barrel.I doubt it would shoot 9mm without some significant changes but like I said I dont know for sure.I have seen people changng from .40 to .357SIG but I have also read of the gun not being able to handle the .357SIG pressures.

As for safe caliber Glock swaps the only I know would be safe would be 10mm to .40 like a Glock 20 or 29 with a .40 cal Barrel put in.

I regularly change my G32 to 40 cal by changing just the brl. I don't use an aftermarket brl, just Glock. The stiffer recoil spring for the 357S has not bothered extraction or feeding.
Changing from a 40 to a 9 presents other problems. The breech face, and extractor are for the 10mm diameter not 9mm. Changing from a 10mm to a 40 is another problem again. The 'large' frame Glocks (45 & 10mm) have different size locking blocks than the 9, 40, 357S.

You'd have to change the barrel, the mags, the extracor, the recoil spring, and the ejector. Probly just be cheaper to buy another gun.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
