You're probaly aware that J.C. Higgins was a Sears "house brand", and that all of their guns were actually made by someone else. Crossover lists between house brands and manufacturers exist, but I don't find your particular gun on the lists. The closest is a Model 52 which was made by SAKO. A good way to proceed would be to order the current edition of the Numrich Gun Parts Corp. catalog, 845-697-2417, and browse through the pictures in the catalog until you find your gun. If successful, you will also find the parts diagram and a source for parts at the same time.

I just went into the shop and pulled my MDL. 50 out and it is an FN Mauser made in Belgium. So virtually any Mauser 98 breakdown will show all the parts and assembly. If you need any assistance just e-mail me, I'll be glad to do whatever I can.

I have a Model 50 in the .270 caliber it is a very well made rifle, and he is right it is made by FN of Belgium. Do not have a take down manual either so I can't help you there.
