I am on the verge of buying an antique gun from California. I am told by the owner that it will need to be shipped to an FFL since California is different and tough than the national law. I knew there were some state regs that were stricter, but does nayone know if this applies to antiques (pre-1898)? 0 -
If it were being shipped TO kalifornia he MIGHT be right (depending on the gun) but kalifornia laws don't affect other states - YET and shipping out of state you should only worry about federal and receiving state laws.

calf laws require all gun sales to go threw a dealer is what i heard
but that is just what i heard
that might be why he has to send it threw a ffl to get it off his books

You don't mention if the firearm uses fixed ammunition. The People's Demokratik Pepublik DOES have a more lax standard for cap & ball

I avoid doing business with Kalifornia like I do China, though sometime inevitable, I try.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
