thompsoncenter stainless alloy frame
I have a t/c stainless alloy contender with a 10 inch 223 and 30-30 barrels. Could anyone tell me if they made a 14 inch barrel for this? Are they interchangeable with the regular stainless steel barrel? Are the alloy frame worth more than the stainless. And when did they quit making the alloy frames. I know boy you have alot of questions. I just do not ever see much about them alloy frames.

I'd go right to the source for answers to questions like yours: either or the folks at their Custom Shop . They've always been very helpful & forthcoming about information & stuff on these guns. 0 -
i don't think thompson - center ever made an alloy frame in the contender. probably why you can't find anything on a alloy frame.
armalloy was a coating over a steel frame.(which is why the parts are generally not interchangable)0 -
Thanks Snocountry I was wrong mine is an armalloy frame. Do you know if they made many of these are what i never came across one like it? 0 -
i don't know the production numbers- suspect the numbers are rather low. tc stock in trade was interchangability of components, and this item wasn't. of several dozen used contenders in and out of here i cannot ever recall an armalloy. 0 -
Kimber, For some reason these frames are not popular with most collectors. You would think with the scarcity this would not be the case. As stated above the armalloy components do not interchange with blue or SS although I think at some point the factory was willing to convert them to do so. 0
