44 XL Shot cartridges
Ihave several of these odd looking things and a prospective buyer but have no ides if they are valuable or not. Does anyone know when they might have been made and if they have any collector value. Also 44 XL's loaded with a round ball? and some 44 WCF loaded with JHP's. I'm in the process of cleaning out my reloading/gun room from 30 plus years of pack ratting and auction purchases. Gotta make room to stock my usable stuff. So I will be seeking advice from the experts quite often if that is allowed.

Raymond, .44 XL shot & ball cartridges were loaded for the Marble's "Game Getter" and often have that term or "GG" in the headstamp. While not rare, they do have collector value if in good condition. Depending on condition, mfg, etc., they could go as high as $3 - $4 each, but more typically sell for around $1 - $2 each. .44 WCF in JHP are most likely shooters unless they are *original* with a variation of "W.H.V." or "M-92" as part of the headstamp. Usually the HP are comparatively modern loadings. Feel free to contact me in the this forum or directly (by using the direct email icon) in regard to ammo. I buy / sell / collect the stuff. I don't know that I would go so far as to call myself an 'expert,' but I feel I am knowledgeable in this field, have many references and contacts with many people in the hobby, some of whom are definitely experts. Would be particularly interested in real old specimens or very exotic US military for my own collection.
