A duck is a duck is a duck.... A Browning, made by Remington is most likely not an A-5.... It will probably be a Model 11. They are quite a common item and are listed in the peice reference boooks..The best way to determine market value is to check the completed auctions and find out what they are SELLING for..not the asking or starting price, But the price paid for them...Good luck...

Production of the Browning Auto-5 was only done by Remington from 1940 to 1946. They made serial numbers 229000-237000.

    Lobo,

If it is in fact a Remington,it would be a model 11. If it is the standard grade, I have one in 12 gauge plain, barrel, and new reblue, and am having a hard time trying to get $250.00 for it. The condition you say it's in, I wouldn't give more than 200.00.

You will more than likely find that most Model 11 Remingtons are around half the value of the same conditioned Browning A-5. But if you want a value check oout..www.antiqueguns.com..and post your inquiry..make sure you add all available info..like percentage of ware.serial numbers. condition..etc. you'll get several good responses regarding your firearm.
