I've had a couple SW3's (HK91 Clone) and I bought one of the SW5's about 6-8 months after they came out, prices were still high compared to what they are now, but I still don't regret it, mine runs flawlessly with HK and Pakastani mags ... Check out the boards at hk-91.com at http://www.hkweaponsystems.com/cgi-bin/forums/ultimatebb.cgi , a lot of people don't like Todd (the owner) but do like his guns ...

Like kk says they are good guns. I've got an SW3 and it is very well made! Price seems pretty good for something sitting in a gunshop. I've seen a few adds in Shotgun News for them under $1100 but am not sure if those are wholesale price. Then tack on transfer and shipping, it'd probably put you over the $1120 anyway. BTW, if it's got the paddle mag release then it's an even better deal, as those seem to have a slightly higher asking price.

Seem's a litte overpriced in my opinion. For such a high priced item, I think it would be worth waiting another year (2004) after the stupid '94 assault arms ban summits and seeing how prices on paramilitary type arms go down.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

A repeal of the '94 weapons ban wont affect imported "Assault Weapons" like the HK's, AK's, AUG's and others, they are banned by the Bush assault weapon ban of '89 which was an excutitive order ... Whats the chance GW will repeal his daddys EO?

    NOT HAPPINING!

Plus Bush has already said he would permenently sign in to law the 94 weapons ban if it crosses his desk ... I'll let you guess what kind of chance there is of that not happening ... something like a snowball's chance in ****!

Are mags more plentiful for the 45 ACP version, or the 9mm version?
    Thanks

The SW45 uses Grease Gun mags, they are plentiful and only about $10-$15 each, the 9mm HK style mags typically run $50+ ... the other concideraton is ammo costs unless you reload ...

Its too bad they didn't make the 9mm model to accept Sten or some other low cost mags ...

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I am going to get one in 45ACP as having lots of hi-cap mags at a reasonable price sounds great. What do the grease gun mags hold? 25? 30?
    Thanks Kimberkid!

A while back another guy asked about the SW45 and he mentioned that stock grease gun mags had to be modified to work in the gun. Anybody know or remember if that's true?

    GL,
It seems like I've heard something about that too, but its probably not much of a modification. To be legal the mag still has to be able to function in a grease gun as well, after the modification is done.
