A USP for the wife?
I am about to purchase a USP for myself. However, my wife likes to shoot with me when I go to the range. I was thinking of buying the full-size .40 caliber...would this be too much for her to handle? She has small hands, and larger guns, like .45's, are too big for her. I would be willing to look at a compact, also. Unlike any other compact, the USP seems to fit my ( large ) hands rather well. What do you guys think? Any smaller shooters out there have trouble with this gun? Just curious.

I always vote for the .22 pistol when one starts shooting. cheep to shoot and no recoil 0 -
Has she ever, shot a 40 before? If so, go for it.
If not, get her a nine. My wife, hates the 45 and the 40.
She flinches, because it is too much for her little hand.
Its the old, by her what she likes, trick. Dont by her
something, that YOU WANT TO USE.0 -
The grip on my USP40 is larger than any of my nines and the checkering on the front and back don't make it easier to get a firm grip. The recoil is is heavier than with any of the nines also. My hands are about small to medium if that helps. I originally bought it to shoot IDPA and went back to my Browning HP. 0 -
I like an HK they are very reputable firearms.I like Sig as well,But I feel like they are getting out of the price range of the average American. They are top line guns, but so is Glock and they sell in the $500.00+ Range. And the Glock has endured some very harsh conditions and still came out shooting.Just one test for example, they laid a fully loaded Glock 17 down on the Hard top and parked a large SUV on the gun. They left it for an hour, then moved the SUV off of it and fired 100RDS threw it with 0 Malfunctions.I wish Sig and HK would come down on their Prices.
Best!!
