Were you using surplus ammo? If so that may be it. I often have stiff bolt lifting using high power, indifferent quality surplus; sometimes a cracked case neck is to blame. This with guns with all matching parts. Could be a headspace problem, but so long as you can move the handle without a hammer (ahem, don't try that either!) I doubt you have a problem. Might want to try some commercial ammo and see if the problem persists.

If you were using surplus ammo jonk is probably right if you look at the spent cases and they have cracks on or around the neck then thats probably the problem. Don't worry it's not the gun.

Even if the case necks aren't cracked it could still be the ammo- cases too long, powder charge on the hot side, etc.

when i first got my hakim it would actually rip a piece of rim off.
turned out the chamber was a little rusty in the front end.
brass wire brush in a drill cured the problem.
