I have them installed on two pistols and find them invaluable for low light target acquisition. They cannot effect night vision, and are not visible to the bg at +/-90 degrees from the muzzle.

My friend uses Trijicons...myself, I prefer the PT Night Sight. They seem brighter to me, and they have more configurations available. Of course, as far as brightness is concerned, the ones on my friend's Glock 17 are old, and they may well have faded over time. Just check out some different on-line catalogs or ask to see them at your local shop. Pick a configuration you like and try it out. 0 -
I like Trijicon sights, but I do recommend a color that shows up well during bright lite conditions. As far as service life it has been my experience they seem to last forever.Bad boy bob is exactly right, but for that first Double Tap they work well. After the muzzle flash at night its not easy to acquire realinement with any sights. But nite sites are quicker.
Best!!

I have a set of Meprolights on my carry Glock and they work well. they have a thicker white outline than the Trijicons if I'm not mistaken, and are quick to acquire during the day or night.
I highly recommend getting night sights on your carry gun. There is another brand that has the express sight system that might be easier to acquire.

I prefer Meprolight night sights. I have had handguns with PT, Trijicon, and Meprolight sights, so I have at least limited experience with all three. The Meprolights are far brighter than anything else. I agree with the above post about Meprolights being more visible as a three-dot sight in daylight. That's my not-so-valued opinion. 0 -
I have Trijicons on my Sigs and Meps on my Glock. I prefer the the Meps. The have a larger diameter window which allows for faster sight and target aquisition and they seem brighter. 0 -
Trijon is okay, got em on my Sig 220
If you intend to use them at night, get a flash hider.
After the first shot, yes you are blinded, without one.0
