Alternative 1911 quality
I've been searching for a good condition, reasonably priced original 1911 or 1911a1 for home and occasional carry. Since that was a lot of wasted effort, can I get input on the clones made by:

Norinco use to import nice clones. Look for one of these at a good price. I picked mine up for $200. Shoots nice. 0 -
I am a colt man myself. However, the auto ordnance,
is right up there, with the colt for reliability.
Springfields, are real good guns as well. I think that,
my next gun will be a para ordnance P12. Compact,and high

Check around for price of parts and put one together yourself. Learn about all the parts and what they do and have fun putting it together. Depends on the parts how much it will run you. I put together 2 for just over 4 bones.

How about a Colt Sistema? It's also called the 1927 Argentine Contract model. It's a Colt, made with Colt parts, under Colt supervision, in Argentina. They can usualy be had for around $300.

In response to rballi, my budget is $400 to $500 so that may even get to a CZ 97B or a Ruger P90, but I prefer a single action and the looks of a 1911.

Springfield Mil Spec is about $450 New. You can also find The Colt 1991A1 for about the same price. 0 -
Hell if your looking to spend 4-5 hundred buy a colt or springfield. I prefer colt as a first choice. When I suggested a Norinco I thought you were looking for cheap and a fairly good gun. 0 -
putting springfield alongside charles daly and some of the other "clones" you mentioned is a joke, springfields are up there with colts and kimbers as far as reliability. cops dont carry charles daly, they DO carry springfields. 0
