While visiting my mother, she gave me another one of my late fathers weapons. It is a: J C Higgins, 22 cal, Rev. Seems to be in pretty good condition.
Anybody know about this weapon? Worth? Rarity? When it was made?

I watched one offered by a dealer on a web site for several months. He was asking $195. This is a great little rifle (I own one)built for Sears by High Standard. Unfortunatly, the rifles with store names are very little collected, having only shooter value and that value is always less than that of the underlying model with the manufacturers name. Enjoy it!

the prices vary from $30.00 to $175.00. i just picked up a sears/j.c. higgens/high standard model 25 semiauto (sport king) with its original 4x jch scope. they are fun for plinking, or for teaching the kids, or new shooters gun safety, but they have the worst trigger creep and floating anonymous trigger break of any rimfire i have ever shot. on the plus side, they fire and cycle with .22 shorts. the shorts grouped around 3.5 inches at 50 yds. unless it is in collectors new in box condition it should be worth about $75.00. give us some more detail for a more exact price.

THE RIFLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. MY FATHER BOUGHT IT BACK IN THE 60'S I BELEIVE. HE RECENTLY PASSED AWAY AND MY MOTHER WAS THINKING OF SELLING IT. I HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP IT AND PASS IT DOWN TO MY SON. BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW VALUEABLE, MONEY WISE THAT IS. BUT SENTIMENT IS MORE IMORTANT. THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS. 0
