I'd pass, it will only bring you problems, the best mags for the sks is the original one on the gun. Just buy a bunch of stipper clips, they are alot cheaper than magazines anyway. If you want detachable magazines, I'd advise finding one of the norincos that were made with the ak magazines, or getting something else.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

LeeBlackMan hit the nail on the head. The original is the best, just by some stripper clips. High cap. mags only start problems. 0 -
We hope this will end the confusion about SKS high capacity mags
and why some people believe that hi cap mags do not work

Interesting site Tech. Have you (or anyone else)bought and used any? I plan on a few SKS purchases but the mag situation is an issue. 0 -
Hi,
I have used the USA brand, 30 round steel detachable mags for years. These mags are slightly more difficult to reload because of the duckbill but once inserted properly they work fine. I have not had any issues with them.
I have also used the plastic mags and those don't work.

ive heard it go both ways. A buddy and mine bought 30 rounders, and they marginally at best. But I have heard some of them work better with models from different countries, and some just get lucky. Ive also heard that some guys have been able to tinker with them and get them to work. If i were to do I would get 20rd and see if that works. Your best best it probably to use the 10 rounder. But you know they are fun to buy, and are cheap. So its a fun gun to try new things. 0 -

This topic comes up again and again and again. . . Three points:
a. Yes, everyone does it anyway, but installing high cap mags on C&R type SKS rifles is of questionable legality.
b. Putting them in seems to be hit-or-miss in terms of function.
c. Stripper clips are cheaper than detachable mags, lighter, more portable, and pretty fast to use with practice.0 -
And to add what Bean said.
If you buy 2 of the Hitech mags on top of the the price of the SKS you could have an AK and several mags...........0
