My grandfather purchased this shotgun many years ago from a local hardware store in our town. He has passed away and I inherited his firearms. I have this Remington Model 11-48, semi automatic, with an improved cylinder. The gun is in decent shape on the outside and still works fine. The only thing wrong is it consistantly shoots a little low. I was wondering how much this gun is worth.

Hello ghhunter8828
It depends on a number of things:
For example the gauge is extreemly important. 12 gauges are as common as grass, but 20 gauges bring a premium, .410 bring a big premium, and 28 gauges bring a BIG premium.
Another thing is the barrel a plain barrel, or does it have a vent-rib? Vent-ribs bring a premium.
Some of the 11-48's had select wood on them and it brings a premium over the run of the mill stuff.
Bottom line: We need more information to get you somewhere in the right ball-park.
Since this shotgun was your grandfather's --- it is invaluable. You should keep it --- use it --- and pass it on to your children. You should use the opportunity in the field with it and your children to tell them everything you know about your grandfather.

I've seen the 11-48 in 12ga for around $200 plus or minus. 0 -
I bought a Sportsman 48 (3 shot version of the 11-48)in 12 ga. with vent rib and in really nice condition at a gun show a year ago for $220. 0 -
I have a 11-48 Remington shotgun in 16 ga. It has an engraved receiver and trigger guard. It has a standard barrel and it seems funny that it doesn't have a ribbed barrel since it has the engraving. I have no idea on it's value.
