    Hello All,

I would like to know if I can lessen the trigger pull. If so, how would I go about doing it?
Is there another trigger group I could buy, etc.

    Thanks!

I have one...it shoots very well and does especially well with multiple spinners. It doesn't shoot as well as my Trailside but it also didn't cost as much. If you get one, go ahead and get the target model with the barrel weight and all. Oh, the grip frame, while adjustable, is on the small side. That's perfect if you have small hands but can be a nuisance if you have larger hands.

I heard mostly bad things about the gun. A friend of mine got one and it jammed alot. Another friend of mine got one and it was picky about ammo. Supposedly there is a free exchange program for replacemtent magazines that are causing the problems.

I recently got a used one (4 months old) from a guy wanting to trade it in on a 22 rifle. A gun shop offered him $150 in trade; I gave him $160 cash for it. I tried Federal Lightning red & blue box and couldn't get through one full mag without a jam or fail to feed. I took the gun home took it apart and cleaned & lubed it. Tried it again, still no luck with the Federal. I tried CCI Mini Mags and they worked fine, I also tried Winchester Dynapoints and they worked fine also. I guess you have to use $1.50 ammo instead of $.79 ammo. If you get one, don't get discouraged if it doesn't work, try different ammo and stick with it. If it still has problems, there is a free exchange for the mags.

Been shooting a P22 (target length barrel - 5") for about four months now. First thing I did after picking it up was to take the manual aside, take the entire thing down, clean it & very carefully lube everything I could find that needed it with Greased Lightning. Had one cartridge jam - out of perhaps 600 fired to date - in the first few days of break-in, which I attributed to the mag not beng fully seated. Mine shoots best with Winchester T22 (I think that's what it's called) Target ammo, one of the silver boxed brand of fairly inexpensive ammo. That's a standard velocity load, 40 grain non-hp bullet I think. I ran out of that brick I bought awhile back & mistakenly bought Winchester's high-velocity target HP (still silver box though) & find that shoots just as good. I have heard many reports of people having trouble with the P22 buty have yet to experience any of the same problems with mine. With a red-dot sight mounted to a 10mm (air gun) Weaver adapter I can shoot 1-1/2" groups at 25 yards (two-hand grip) until my trigger finger cramps up from having to bend almost double to release the trigger - trigger is STIFF & the P22 is a small-hand weapon. My Desert Eagle fits my hand much better.

Local gun dealer mentioned that Walther (S&W does warranty work) will replace non functioning mags for free. You will probably have to ship it to them. Talk to your local dealer or give S&W a call. Supposedly the magazines were the root of the jamming problems.

I'm glad to hear std velocity 22's should work in the gun. I was told that this was a high velocity gun only; although, it shoots the Win Dynapoints well and I'm pretty sure those are std velocity.

I read somewhere that the recoil spring is another root of the jamming problems that plague this gun. Walther will put a heavier spring and it supposedly stops the jamming problems.

Curious about the HV only; Walther (and some other manufactureres I've seen) make some nice Class III accessory silencers for this semi. I haven't used subsonic ammo in my P22 though I've heard that's what's most appropriate for use when "discrete" operation is intended.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a pair of those babies
out to the range. I had no problems with jamming having spent a
few hours and a few hundred rounds plinking. There is an old post
somewhere with more accounts both good and bad. I'll see if I can
find it. I have fairly large hands, and while it is a small grip, I
found that with the mag with the grip extension it was comfortable
    enough for me.
And yes, S&W handles Walther USA
Two enthusiastic thumbs up, a very fun little gun

Okay, got it....as of right now check out pages 6 and 13..
one is "does anybody have a Walther p22 or the 9mm version" or
something to that effect and the latter is "when is p22 Cali legal"

I've had mine for about a month now and took it to the range twice.
At first it was doing fine with a jamb here and there, but I thought it was just part of the breaking in period, plus I was using the Federal HV hp's. After the first use, I cleaned and lubed it completely and took it out again last weekend. I used the same ammo, but diferent box and noticed that I was getting alot of no-feed or whatever you call it when it does not chamber a round. I think it's the mag though because when loading, follower seem to hang up so figure it did get stuck on the way back up and did not push the next round up to be stripped. I always seat it correctly all the time.
Aside from it not chambering a round here or there, it's fun when it does work, which is most of the time, and I am still glad I got it. I think I'll send both mags in for replacement and re-circulate these bad mags for someone else to get. Hopefully I don't get another pair of bad ones. I never thought about the recoil springs though.

I too have big hands and even with the larger back strap, it's still small but okay since it's only a 22, plus I really got it for the wife and kids to plink with anyway. GD

I've shot many of those, one did jam frequently but only few are like that. Overall a very fine .22 pistol. Craftsmanship and accuraccy are superb.
