Perhaps you're hankerin' for the 32NAA: check out http://www.gunweek.com/archives/2002/feature0501.html Here's a link describing where somebody necked down a 50 BMG to .22 caliber; sintered, 29 grain bullet at (oh, let's say) 5000+ fps. (http://stevespages.com/page7.htm) Have fun!

I believe that the pistol was made by NAA but I could be wrong, the only thing Ive been able to find is the .380 Guardian. Perhaps I read the article wrong but I was sure it said that it was a 380 Caliber necked down to a 380.

It's a NAA called the .32NAA, a Nambu like cartridge. They have a new product release on www.naaminis.com

I went to the web site but I cant find anything on the 32NAA Caliber, all I can find is the regular 32 and the regular >380 Guardians. Am I missing something here? L.O.L. It has been a long day!!

Focus! You need to focus on those sights!!!

Paste this into your browser-of-choice: http://talk.naaminis.com/room_178/780.cfm Apparently they're working out some last-minute details & the little critter's haven't been turned loose just yet. Anybody know where I can get one of them BMG.223 autoloaders, please? There's a candidate for governor here in Illinois who has a blind fear of 50 caliber weapons & they just might outlaw 'em.

Actually the cartridge is very similar to but about 3/16" shorter than the 8mm Nambu which is a long way from the 30 cal Borchardt, Mauser or Luger in performance. I would be surprised to see 900fps out of that pistol, given the tiny cartridge and tiny barrel.

Actually they are stating that using custom cemmercial grade powders the final load achieved 1222 f.p.s. and 199 ft.lbs. from the 2.5 inch barrel!!!! Additionaly the .32Naa produces more velocity, more energy and more stopping power than any .380ACP(+P} with 15 % less recoil, penetrates 8.3 inches of gelatin after pasing through 4 layers of denim, and has a fuller index of 62% One Shot Stops compared to the 380A.C.P. Federal 90 gr. Hydra Shok at 53%.

Hard to believe even with a 59 grain bullet.
In Feb.1987, I got between 185 and 200 ft lbs m.e. from a similar cartridge with a 40 grain bullet but out of a longer,3 1/2" barrel (ppks). Pressure was 30-35,000 psi cup (measured) which is plenty for a small blowback pistol. To get similar results from a 2 1/2" barrel, pressures have to be quite a bit higher.
Slide velocity was too high for the PPK slide weight, even with duplex springs, and the PPKS was damaged from the battering. The NAA has a lighter slide.
Even if the NAA has a locked breech, it has to take a hell of a pounding to produce the alleged numbers.
I'm not from Missouri but seein is believin.

I would be reluctant to accept the press release information at face value in the absence of confirmation from independent sources. Remember these are the same PR flacks who are responsible for Klintoonian pronouncements of innocence and MacroCrap's of OS stability. In the absence of a repeal of the natural laws of science or major breakthroughs in propellant technology, the claims are, should we say, startling.
