Cabelas Scope.
Just bought a new "Pine Ridge" Cabelas 4-12x40mm rifle scope from a yard sale and paid $45.00 for it. Is this a fairly good scope? It looks nice- did I get a good deal? Couldn't pass it up for the price!

daddo,
Yeah, you got a good deal. Cabella's sells them for $109.99 plus shipping. I'm not sure, but I think Simmons makes them for Cabellas.

The Cabela's scopes are not the top of the line and the Pine Ridge is not the top of Cabela's line, but that said, they are pretty decent scopes for the price. At $45 you got a decent deal all right.

Just ordered another 22-250 rem. varmit. Do you think it would be o.k. for this rifle? Decking this out with a bi-pod, barrel check/float, possibly a brake, and moly treatment. 0 -
daddo,
It should be ok I guess. But I'm a firm believer of high quality scopes. I would put the best scope I could afford on any gun.
I imagine it has a lifetime warranty on it anyway, should you have any problems. I would call Cabellas and ask them what it does have for a warranty.0 -
I can't comment on quality because I haven't used one but about a year ago the local Cabelas had a hundred or so "refurbished" pine ridge scopes in the bargan cave. Make one wonder. 0 -
Well- guess I'll use it till I can afford a Leupold. 0
