Shotgun info
I have an old shot gun I am seeking info on.
It's a side by side 12 Ga. with 30" barrels and double triggers.
On both sides of the reciever it is engraved with a bird dog.
On the top of the reciever under the left barrel it is stamped "40XXX PAT'D", and under the right barrel it's stamped "12"
On the top of the left barrel it is stamped "Western Arms Corp., Ithaca, N.Y." between two arrows.
On top of the right barrel it is stamped "Long Range Gun" between two arrows.
On The bottom of the left barrel it is stamped "LLH" "4 + 40XXX".
On the bottom of the right barrel it is stamped "LLH" "2 +2 3/4 chamber".

Mossberg 183:
.410 bore (gauge), two shell fixed, top-loading magazine. Came with two interchangeable chokes tubes (M/F). The early ones had a 25 inch barrel and the later ones had a 26 inch barrel. They had a plain pistol grip stock and the weighed in somewhere around 5-1/2 pounds.
They were originally designated as the Model 83D. They were made from 1940 up until around 1971.
I don't know what else to tell you about them.
