Need info on neck turning
I believe I find myself in need of a neck turner. I have no idea what I need or whose stuff is good. I also need to get a case trimmer as I currently have been using Lee stuff and I DO know that I need a regular case trimmer to do this. Looking at Lyman's catalog, I see they offer neck turners, which they list as adjustable to any size, but then they list what caliber mandrels are available. What is a mandrel? How can it be adjustable if you are limited to X number of caliber mandrels?

The mandrel fits inside the case like a bullet.
The Lyman is adjustable for depth of cut.
Check out some of the Benchrest forums and the Sinclair catalog.

The Forster offers the most and best options and performance in my opinion. They are priced right and if you have a problem or need a part, just call the company and they'll take care of you.

I agree, the Forester neck turner is a good unit. I reload the .270 and the .300 Rem. UM., and have had great luck with their products. 0 -
I have a Lyman and it is perfect for my needs ... but then I only shoot common caliburs like .223 8mm Mauser and .308
