Titanium or chromed bolt?
I have seen ads for titanium coated and ads for chromed bolts and bolt carriers for the AR-15. What advantages do these have, if any, over stock parts? Which is better?

An Industrial Hard Chrome finish has to be the best, and stongest surface next to Glocks secretive tenifer finish.
Titanium Nitride coating is something thats fairly new. I don't know to much about it, other than its supposed to be harder than the hard chrome, but thats all I've heard.

Coated bolts are OK.
Carriers are not.
USGI has no hard coating on the carrier.
It is thought to wear the upper and buffer tube more quickly, though I have my doubts.

What about maybe if the upper was coated in the same manner as the carrier?
