Kimber Super Match
What should the price range for a Kimber super match?

I belive the last retail price I saw was in the neighborhood of $1750, but should be in the in should be in the $1400 range. for another $350 more you can get a much nicer piece built by Wilson Combat or Les Baer ... Although The Super Match is nice, its still a production gun, it just gets a little more attention to detail.
I was convinced that they were over-rated when they guarenteed them to shoot a 1.5" group at 50 feet (if I remember correctly) but the test targets I saw were around 3/4" shot at 25 feet. On the Kimber board people complained about it and were told to "Do the math! - 3/4" at 25 feet is the same as 1.5" at 50' ... well to make a long story short they've changed their guarentee to comply with the targets ... rather than shoot the test targets at 50 ...

The only bad thing about choosing a Kimber ...
... there are so darn many models to choose from!

Check into the Gold Combat, it msr's for somewhere around $1200, and is just as nice as the supermatch.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

My brother in law has a stainless Gold Match and it's a very nice gun. Also IMHO the Super Match is just plain ugly. The bad thing about the Gold Combat is that the sights are not adjustable. I bought a Custon last year and now I wish I would've spent a little more and gone with the the Custom Target so I could have some adjustable sights. Also, I but a blue one and regret it. The bluing has worn a lot on the grip safety, mag release & slide latch. Go stainless. Oh well, live and learn. I'm sure it won't be the last .45 I buy.
