    I've been carrying Federal 115 grain plus p plus, i.e. the 9bple.

    Shoot great and hits hard.

I dont own a 9mm but know a large number of people who do and the rounds I have seen the most have been Winchester SXT 127grn +p+,Speer Gold Dot 115grn +p+ and Remington 147grn Golden Saber.Try out some original Winchester Black Talons if you can find some they are fairly destuctive for a 9mm if not go with the Winchester 127grn SXT +p+ I think its the same bullet with a different casing on it but dont know if Im right o that.

Speer Gold Dot has always given consistant performance in the regular loadings without having to resort to the +P or +P+ loadings. Why subject yourself or the gun to the additional recoil and pressures if you don't have to. Just my opinion though.

The most legally defensible will be whatever your LEOs carry in their duty weapons. If you should ever be unfortunate to have to use it, it will be much harder for some shyster lawyer to make you look like a malicious person if you use the same thing as you peace officers.

Short-barreled 9mm guns need +P or +P+ ammo for adequate penetration. At the same time, this will make them buck a bit more in the hand, so be sure to add some +P to your usual target ammo when you practice. You probably don't want to shoot a lot of this--just enough to know you can do so well.

Speer does make a +P Gold Dot that's very good.

Personally I favor winchester production JHP ammo.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

When I went through Glock's armorers school they recommended +p / +p+ loads.

The are not hard to shoot, make the gun cycle more reliably, and are MUCH better stoppers than the non +p loads [around 93 or 94 % oss].

I carry Winchester Ranger +P+ in my Glock 26. Shoots well and I hear it will do the job.

Any plus P is good Federal is got a new 130gr bullet on the market.I like the Ballistics on it.And they use their premium self defense load in it.Ive shot them in my Beretta 9000s,and there accurate.I carry the 9000sDAO as a back up weapon on Duty, and thats the round I have chosen.

    Good Luck!
