Star PD Shock Buffers
I've acquired a number of brand new factory Star PD shock buffers from an estate sale. These guns were famous for the fact that a new buffer was recommended every 200 rounds. Since they're apparently no longer made, and they are NOT a standard part like the Wilson shock buffer but have an extra collar in order to fit properly -- what should I ask for one of these, or expect to receive at auction?

When "Gun Parts Corp." has the buffers in stock they run approx. $ 3.00 each. You may be able to "get" more by posting them on the auction board and/or try packing them into sets (ie - 3 pak / 5 pak). 0 -
If someone is making current stock they may not be worth auctioning at all. I don't "need" to auction them as they didn't cost me much. I just thought if I had a couple more than I may need that I might share. If there's a source out there, it's probably not an item to select for auction.

to the best of my knowlege, there is no commercial source for these buffers. You would be doing a service to the PD afficianados to offer them for sale. I made an adapter for my PD so as to use the standard 1911 buffers, but I still need to thin them out to about 60% of their original thickness in order to get the slide to lock open. The PD is a very finely-balanced operating system! 0 -
